- En 1995, Shakur se convierte en el primer artista en tener un álbum en el puesto Nº1 de Billboard 200 mientras cumplía condena en prisión.
- En 1996, fue nominado para dos Grammy por mejor álbum de rap (Me Against the World) y por mejor canción de rap ("Dear Mama").
- En 1999, el "MTV: 100 Greatest Videos Ever Made" incluyó al video del tema "California Love" en la posición número 9.68

BANDAS
Tupac fue miembro de varios grupos musicales o bandas en su carrera. Son los siguientes:
- Born Busy: Fue parte del grupo bajo el seudónimo de MC New York en compañía de Darin Keith Bastfield, Ace Rocker y DJ Plain Terror.[67]
- Underground RailRoad: Fusión entre Live Squad, Big D The Impossible, Pee Wee, Jeremy y miembros de Digital Underground. Todas las canciones del primer disco de Tupac están producidas por este grupo.
- Digital Underground: Tupac tenía 18 años cuando se unió al grupo Digital Underground, conformado por entonces por Shock G y ChopMaster J. "Same Song" fue la primera canción en la que participó Tupac. Posteriormente el grupo colaboró con Tupac en "I Get Around" del álbum Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z..
- Two From The Crew: Se unió a la banda formada por jóvenes de Marin City en 1986. El grupo hizo canciones como Lifestyle Of The Poor And Homeless y Lets Get It On. Sus letras hablaban sobre todo de la vida de las personas de color en los guetos.
- Strictly Dope: Conoció a Leila Steinberg en San Francisco. Ella ayudó a Tupac a meterse al Ray Luv y poco tiempo después Tupac y Ray formaron parte del grupo Strictly Dope.
- Thug Life: Tupac, junto a Randy Walker "Stretch", formó el duo Thug Life. Stretch posteriormente dejó la banda por razones desconocidas. En 1992, Tupac conoció a Tyruss Himes "Little Psycho" y grabaron una canción titulada "Thug Life". Little Psycho luego cambió su apodo por Big Sike. Posteriormente se unieron al grupo Macadoshis y The Rated R. Ellos grabaron con la compañía Interscope Records un único disco llamado Thug Life: Volume 1. Mopreme (Maurice Harding), el hermanastro de Tupac, también se uniría al grupo.
- Outlawz: Formado antes de que Tupac falleciera. Primeramente se conocía como Dramacydal, debutando en la canción "Me Against The World" del disco homónimo. Los primeros integrantes fueron K-Dog (Kastro), Young Hollywood (Yaki Kadafi), Mu (Napoleon), y Big Malcolm (E.D.I. Mean). Su primera aparición fue en "When We Ride" de All Eyez on Me. Más tarde, junto con Mopreme Shakur (Komani), Hussein Fatal y Big Syke (Mussolini), el grupo cambió el nombre a Outalwz Inmortalz.

BIOGRAFIA
Tupac Amaru Shakur (16 de junio, 1971 -13 de septiembre, 1996) también conocido como Lisane Parish Crooks, 2Pac, Pac o Makaveli fue una influyente estrella del rap. Tupac Amaru es un nombre Inca que significa Serpiente Brillante y Shakur viene del árabe Agradecido a Dios Inicios
Las dos personas, que según Tupac tenian aspecto Neoyorkino, se acercaron con dos pistolas 9mm totalmente idénticas y todos fuzeron forzados a ir al suelo. La agresión de los asaltantes se concentro casi exclusivamente en Tupac, aunque también amenazaron con disparar a Stretch. Solo fue Tupac quien fue baleado, en total fueron 5 balas mientras él se hacía el muerto. Además le robaron varios miles de dólares en joyas.Fue llevado en un ascensor pisos arriba por seguridad, donde sus (entonces) amigos Biggie, Puffy, Little Caesar y otros esperaban. Shakur describe a sus amigos como si actuaran de manera muy extraña, algo asi como sorprendidos de que esté vivo.
Sobrevivió milagrosamente y dejó el hospital pocos días depués yendo en contra de las órdenes del doctor por que se sentía acosado por llamadas telefónics y los doctores. Se presentó en la corte poco después en una silla de ruedas para enfrentar su veredicto en el caso de abuso sexual.
Empezó su condena a finales del mismo febrero y su disco Me Against the World, ganador de varios Discos de Platino se lanzó al público. Es asi que se convierte en el primer artista en tener un album como #1 en las listas mientras cumplía condena. En prisión se casó con su novia Keisha Morris.
En octubre, después de casi ocho meses en prisión, Shakur fue liberado en gran parte a la ayuda del jefe de los Death Row Record, Suge Knight. Suge fijó una fianza $1.4 millones y en intercambio Shakur fue obligado para lanzar tres álbumes bajo Death Row.
La policia de Las Vegas y la de Compton, al parecer nunca resolvieron oficialmente el caso, y solo concluyeron con que a Shakur le habían disparado miembros de la banda de los "Southside Crips". Horas antes Tupac se habia visto envuelto en una pelea entre el séquito de Death Row y un "Southside Crillamado Orlando Anderson en el vestuario del MGM después de la pelea Tyson-Seldon.
Las teorias abundan acerca de su muerte, algunos dicen que sigue vivo, otros que su asesinato fue una conspiración gubernamental y así un gran repertorio de hipotesis pero sin pruebas veraces y concluyentes.

Introducción
Sus letras trantan principalmente sobre el racismo, la pobreza, crítica social y también sobre temas políticos. Trabajó en empresas como Digital Underground ( en sus inicios ) y la famosa Death Row ( hasta su muerte ).
Tupac murió por paro cardiaco e insuficiencia respiratoria el 16 de septiembre de 1996, a los 25 años, tras un tiroteo ''drive-by'' en la famosa Strip de las Vegas.
